A web-based emergency preparedness platform that provides arts and cultural organizations with customized business continuity plans for use following a crisis. The platform is available as an online tool that guides administrators through the process of thinking about and documenting the needs around core critical functions (assets, resources, activities, and finances) in order to find ways to safeguard them and to formulate solutions that can be acted on in the event of an emergency.
In my role as facilitator and designer, I developed and facilitated the community design workshops that brought together professionals from local and regional theater companies as well as state, regional, and national support organizations to talk about their needs and to inform the technical development approach. Workshop outcomes were used to design and build the user interface, process workflows, and support components. This project was led by SouthArts, with colleagues from the UC Ready team at the University of California, Berkeley.
