F.R.E.S.H.

F.R.E.S.H.

This project brought together residents, local businesses, service organizations, and advocates from Chicago's Riverdale Community Area to learn together about new ways to get healthy and affordable food. Angela designed and facilitated the process which involved weekly team meetings, visits to six allied organizations to learn about their approaches to providing healthy and affordable foods in different neighborhoods; advancing community education around local food resources, and engaging friends and neighbors in conversations about how they advocate for better food options, event planning, and more.  Through guided conversations that looked below the surface to explore how the group viewed itself and what it wanted to collectively achieve, the team arrived at its name F.R.E.S.H. (Food Resources that are Easily Sustainable and Healthy), created an aspirational vision for its future, and an actionable plan for a subsequent phase.
