CIMI Dublin Core Workshop Series
I co-authored the curriculum and served as an instructor for this workshop series that was the first of its kind. Working
with the CIMI Guide to Best Practice: Dublin Core, the team that authored the guide led a set of hands-on workshops to introduce
the Dublin Core standard to museum audiences around the world. Workshops were held in Europe, North America, and Australia.
The workshop focused on practical issues such as semantics, structure, and syntax. It addressed questions such as What
is metadata? and What is the relationship between metadata and the Dublin Core standard?
Real Life: Virtual Experiences
I co-chaired this groundbreaking conference. In 2001, museums were in the throws of making new connections with visitors
through the use of technology. We brought together speakers from a variety of disciplines to open a dialogue about how real
life and virtual experiences collide.
Topics covered:
-- Wearable Technologies
-- Personalization
-- Immersive Environments
-- User-Centered Design
-- Smart Architecture
-- Mobile, Wireless, and Hand-held Devices
-- Physical Computing
